Louisville man lives to see 108 years around the sun
SUMMARY: Major Jewel McDonald, at 108 years old, is one of the oldest people in Mississippi. He has lived through significant historical events and life changes, growing up with 12 siblings raised by a single mother. He moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, then returned to his hometown of Louisville, Mississippi, where he retired. He prayed for a long life to see his children grow up, and longevity runs in his family. He married at 70 and had his youngest son at 84. McDonald advises future generations to slow down and enjoy life. He has 6 children and 5 grandchildren.
