SUMMARY: Southeast Louisiana is experiencing significant rainfall and flash flood warnings, particularly in the Slidell area and St. Tammany Parish. Heavy rain is expected to continue through tonight and tomorrow, with flood alerts in effect until Saturday morning. Doppler radar reveals ongoing wet conditions, particularly along the Gulf Coast. A low-pressure system in the Gulf is contributing to the rain and has a 10% chance of tropical cyclone development in the coming days. Additional rainfall accumulations could reach 5 to 10 inches, leading to potential street flooding. Caution is advised for travel, especially during the morning commute.

The WDSU First Warning Weather Team is watching the Gulf of Mexico for possible development. Two areas are being monitored over the next week.
