Tracking severe weather in southeast louisiana

SUMMARY: Severe weather is anticipated this weekend, particularly on Saturday, which has an enhanced risk of storms. While some areas are experiencing breaks from rain, others, like Slidell, may see more showers soon. The larger weather system, originating in Texas, has weakened but still poses risks of damaging winds and tornadoes in parts of Mississippi and Louisiana. Saturday afternoon into Sunday morning is expected to bring severe weather with potential flooding and large hail. Alerts are in place for Saturday.

Weather Impact Alert: Tornadoes possible Saturday across the south

There is an enhanced risk for tornadoes Saturday afternoon and night. The weather will be nicer come Sunday.
