SUMMARY: At a recent K-12 Study Group meeting in Louisiana, educators expressed concerns over excessive standardized testing, particularly the Louisiana Education Assessment Program (LEAP), which they argue increases stress among students and teachers. Iberia Parish School District’s president, Brad Norris, called for a reevaluation of early literacy assessments, advocating for postponing the first DIBELS test to mid-year. Superintendent Dr. Cade Brumley announced a 20% reduction in testing time, a move criticized as insufficient by educators.

www.youtube.com – WWLTV – 2024-11-14 22:13:53

SUMMARY: Out of the 11 named storms this season, 11 have become hurricanes, but Tropical Storm Sara is not expected to strengthen much further. It will mainly bring heavy rain to Central America, particularly Honduras, and then move toward Belize and the Yucatan. Due to its proximity to land, further intensification is unlikely, though a brief window for strengthening exists if it moves away from the coast. The storm is expected to dissipate by Sunday, with no Gulf of Mexico impact, though its remnants may affect forecasts later next week.

Chief Meteorologist Chris Franklin says Tropical Storm Sara likely to dissipate this weekend on Sunday as it starts to move into the Yucatán.
