Building Futures of Monroe explain “blue pumpkin” for Halloween, other colors
SUMMARY: Good evening, I’m Kyla Scott. Tonight, we discuss the significance of pumpkin colors during Halloween, as they can indicate special needs or food allergies in children. An orange pumpkin is traditional, but blue pumpkins signal a child with autism or sensory processing disorders, indicating they may have communication challenges or discomfort with costumes. Purple pumpkins raise awareness for epilepsy, while teal ones show non-food treats are available for children with food allergies. It’s essential to recognize that trick-or-treating can vary for everyone, and kindness and understanding help ensure an inclusive Halloween experience for all. Reporting live, I’m Jaden Maloney.

Federal judge extends restraining order in tuberculosis-infected detainee case | Louisiana
SUMMARY: A federal judge has extended a temporary restraining order in a case involving the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and a tuberculosis-positive Chinese migrant. U.S. District Judge David Joseph’s order affects 211 detainees at the Richwood Correctional Center and South Louisiana ICE Processing Center. A preliminary injunction hearing is set for Nov. 13. The order mandates that detainees must be screened by the Louisiana Department of Health before release, though ICE can transport them under certain conditions. The legal action follows claims that the migrant was not isolated despite a positive TB test, potentially exposing numerous individuals.
