Loose dog walks up to FOX 4 reporter after owner abandoned him
SUMMARY: Fox 4’s Payton Jager encountered a lost Husky-Heeler mix named Rocket before the 10 p.m. newscast. Rocket wouldn’t leave her side, so she took him home, and after checking his microchip, learned his owner no longer wanted him. Despite being well-behaved, Rocket needs a loving home. Payton expressed frustration with the frequent abandonment of pets and urged responsible pet ownership. She offered to help find Rocket a home, emphasizing the importance of contacting shelters or volunteers instead of letting pets roam. Payton’s apartment is too small, so she’s seeking a responsible person to adopt or meet Rocket.

A lost dog walked up to Peyton Yager just before going live Monday night. The dog had on a vest, was well-mannered and knew how to sit and shake. After getting the husky-heeler mix’s chip checked the following day, she learned the owner didn’t want “Rocket” back. Yager is looking for a responsible, loving home for him.

Texas Longhorns end 22-year Final Four drought with win over TCU in Elite Eight
SUMMARY: The Texas Longhorns women’s basketball team is heading to the Final Four for the first time since 2003 after defeating TCU 58-47 in the Elite Eight. Despite TCU’s late run after Sedona Prince fouled out, Texas held strong, with Booker hitting a crucial shot and Rori Harmon adding a final jumper. Texas’ defense forced 21 turnovers, limiting TCU’s star Hailey Van Lith to 3-of-14 shooting. Booker led Texas with 18 points, and Harmon added 13. They will face South Carolina on April 4.

Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson in support of film incentives bill in Texas | FOX 7 Austin
SUMMARY: Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson supported a Texas film incentives bill during a committee hearing on SB22, which aims to revamp the Texas Moving Image Incentive Program. The legislation proposes to allocate $500 million every two years, arguing that $469 is spent in the state for every dollar granted. McConaughey emphasized the importance of training a local workforce through partnerships with community colleges to sustain a film industry in Texas. By developing infrastructure and job training, Texas could attract productions and compete with states like Georgia and New Mexico, creating a self-sustaining film industry.

Actors Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson testified before the Senate Finance Committee in support of legislation to beef up an incentive plan for the entertainment industry.

Parents file criminal complaints against Houston ISD officials after failed $4 billion bond
SUMMARY: Parents of the Houston Independent School District (HISD) have filed criminal complaints following the failure of a $4 billion bond measure. The complaints are focused on HISD’s actions surrounding the bond election last November, including the allocation of $2 million for campaign consulting, which parents claim violated Texas election laws. Investigations revealed videos advocating for the bond, which could lead to misdemeanor charges. Nine parents have filed complaints with the Harris County District Attorney’s office. While some have received confirmation of the investigation, others await a response. HISD has not commented on the matter.

It was in early February that KPRC 2 Investigates first exposed potential electioneering by the Houston Independent School District during last year’s controversial bond election.
Now, more parents are coming forward and filing criminal complaints with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.
