One mother, Laoneda Ellis, shares her personal experience of losing her 12-year-old daughter to suicide due to bullying. Since then, Ellis has turned her pain into a passion to help others and regularly speaks to youth groups and organizations about mental health. She has also enrolled in mental health classes at Mississippi State University. Veronica Harrison from Community Counseling emphasizes the importance of reaching out and talking to someone before it’s too late. Suicide rates are rising, and Harrison wants to stop the stigma surrounding seeking help for mental health.
