Local Bakery Partners with CASA to Give Birthday Cakes to Children
SUMMARY: In Gulfport, MS, CASA’s executive director, Cynthia Chauvin, established “Candles of Hope” to ensure foster children receive birthday cakes, responding to a request from a former foster youth. The program allows children to choose their cake flavors, giving them a voice. Recently, local bakery owners Danielle and Gordon White pledged to support this initiative, especially after a heartfelt encounter regarding honoring a late child’s memory. On October 9th, they launched “Kaiden’s Candles of Hope,” and the first cakes will be delivered soon. Donations can be made via CASA’s website, supporting both the project and local foster children.
