When officers attempted to engage with the suspect, residents were uncooperative. Tensions escalated, leading the police to deploy tear gas to evacuate the home for safety, despite the suspect being absent. Community members expressed outrage over police treatment, citing racially biased practices and damage done during the incident. The suspect, Steven Willis, was arrested later and charged accordingly.

For Bogalusa, temperatures are expected to fall into the 30s overnight with possible frost. Highs today were in the 70s, but tomorrow will bring a cooler day with high temperatures in the 60s and a continued breeze. The coldest morning is projected for Saturday, nearing freezing. While Sunday will warm up, Thanksgiving Day may see another cold front and increased rain chances, adjusting the forecast to a 40% chance of rain and lower temperatures.
