LIVE | Special Report on Plane Crash in Washington, DC
SUMMARY: An overnight air crash near Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C., involved an Army Blackhawk helicopter colliding with an American Airlines regional passenger jet arriving from Kansas. The incident occurred around 9 p.m., with both aircraft going down in the Potomac River. A search and rescue operation, involving 300 personnel and divers in frigid waters, is underway, but there are currently no reported survivors among the 60 passengers and crew on the jet or the three soldiers on the helicopter. The collision raises serious questions about night flying challenges, as both vehicles were operating visually.

SUMMARY: The Casselberry Police Department in Florida has introduced a new full-body restraint device called the “Wrap” to enhance safety during arrests. This three-part device includes leg straps, an arm sleeve, and a helmet, offering more control than the previous leg-only “Hobble.” The Wrap helps prevent suspects from moving their upper bodies, reducing risks to officers, suspects, and bystanders.
