LIVE: Biloxi City Council considering RV ordinance

SUMMARY: The Biloxi City Council is examining a proposed ordinance that could modify the regulations for where recreational vehicles (RVs) are permitted to park, specifically during events like Cruisin’ The Coast. The measure, which had its first reading during a council meeting, is geared towards enhancing safety as well as managing the increasing size of events. If passed, properties hosting two or more RVs on a short-term basis would need to secure a permit and be designated as an RV park. The ruling would also prohibit such parking on residential lots. Reporter Noah Noble has been tracking this development for seven months, noting that the ordinance may change following public input. The council will progress with discussions before a second reading and final vote. These changes stem from the need to address safety concerns due to growing event crowds and are part of a larger set of ordinances affecting special events in Biloxi.

Expert Talk – Senior Medicare Patrol (Telehealth Fraud)

SUMMARY: In this episode of WXXV’s Expert Talk, host Michelle Eubank welcomes Danielle Gillery from Senior Medicare Patrol to discuss telehealth, which gained prominence during the COVID pandemic. Telehealth allows patients to consult with doctors via video calls rather than in person. However, telehealth fraud occurs when individuals are billed for services from providers they’ve never interacted with, such as cases where nurses, rather than doctors, diagnose readings. Gillery advises viewers who suspect fraud to contact Medicare or the Senior Medicare Patrol for assistance. The organization provides resources to help resolve billing issues and combat scams.
