Legendary gymnastics coach Bela Karolyi dies
SUMMARY: Former Team USA coach Bella Coroli has died at age 82, as reported by USA Gymnastics. He was a prominent figure in women’s gymnastics, coaching the successful U.S. teams of the 1980s and 90s, including the Magnificent 7 at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. However, his legacy is controversial, especially amid the Larry Nassar scandal, with numerous former gymnasts alleging Coroli contributed to a toxic culture that enabled Nassar’s abuse.
