Lee County sheriff further talks about second cold case arrest

SUMMARY: After 20 years, investigators in Lee County made an arrest in the cold case murder of Wendy Benson, who was strangled in her home. Sheriff Jim Johnson confirmed that Benson, whose mother described her as sweet and kind, had known Richard Trulock, one of the charged suspects, who was arrested last year. Nikki Hester, Trulock’s daughter, was recently charged as well. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation used advanced forensic technology to reopen the case. Although the investigation remains active, both suspects are currently held in jail with a combined bond of $300,000.

The Lee County sheriff further talked about the second arrest made in a former cold case.
