SUMMARY: Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill will provide guidance on a law requiring the Ten Commandments to be displayed in classrooms. This law is currently blocked in five school districts by U.S. District Judge John deGravelles, who ruled it “unconstitutional on its face.” The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld this injunction, and oral arguments are scheduled before the U.S. Supreme Court for January 23. Murrill stated that guidance on compliant displays would be issued soon, emphasizing that other school districts are not impacted by the ongoing litigation.
