Laurie Shaver trial: Florida woman put in handcuffs moments after jury finds her guilty in husband's

SUMMARY: The jury found the defendant guilty of second-degree murder with a firearm in case number 20 CF 2361. The court has adjudicated the defendant guilty and remanded them to the custody of the sheriff, pending a pre-sentence investigation report by the Florida parole and probation commission. The defendant will be held at the Lake County Jail until sentencing, which is scheduled for November 25th at 9:00 AM. Laurie Shaver was found guilty of second-degree murder in the death of her husband, Michael. Shaver was accused of shooting and killing Michael by shooting him in the back of the head. She then, prosecutors alleged, buried him in the backyard beneath a fire pit and concrete slab. Michael was last seen by friends in 2015. His skeletal remains were found in 2018.
