SUMMARY: Faye Jackson signed the Guard Bureau in Washington, D.C. on January 23rd in memory of her daughter, Kaile Porter, who died from heart disease at the age of 23. The City of Laurel honored Faye Jackson by organizing an annual Wear Red Day to shine awareness on the dangers of heart disease. Kaile Porter was developmentally delayed but lived an independent life, graduating, working, and going through everyday life until the disease took over in the last three months of her life. The Guard Bureau was signed to bring awareness to heart disease, which eventually took Kaile’s life.
