Last day to register to vote in TN
SUMMARY: With the November 5th election approaching, today is the final deadline to register to vote in Tennessee. Voters can register online at goote.tn.gov, where about 80% of applications are completed. Traditional paper applications are also available and can be submitted by mail or dropped off at local election offices. Early voting begins next Wednesday and will continue through the end of the month.

Florida prepares for another major hurricane
SUMMARY: The toll from Hurricane Helen has risen to at least 230 confirmed deaths, with over 170 people still missing. As Florida braces for Hurricane Milton, crews are clearing debris while residents prepare by filling sandbags and stockpiling supplies. The National Hurricane Center warns that Milton will bring life-threatening storm surge and hurricane-force winds, affecting both the West and East Coasts.
