SUMMARY: A suspect involved in a lengthy standoff with Lexington Police has been taken into custody. The standoff began around 2:45 PM on Pomac Drive in the Monacello neighborhood, prompting the response of a SWAT team and negotiators due to the suspect being armed. The individual was apprehended around 9:15 PM. Earlier, an ambulance was seen removing someone from the scene, though details about their condition remain unconfirmed. Lexington Police have stated that the scene is now clear and there is no ongoing threat to the public. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

SUMMARY: The Kentucky Supreme Court has unanimously decided to keep executions on hold, which were paused in 2010 by a Franklin Circuit Court judge due to mental health issues of death row inmates and concerns about the state‘s lethal injection drugs. Despite recent changes made by the Kentucky Department of Corrections to address these issues, the Supreme Court denied their request to resume executions. Currently, around two dozen inmates remain on Kentucky’s death row.
