Nearly 30 vehicles found charred following west Houston parking lot fire
SUMMARY: A destructive fire at the Creo on Yorktown Apartments in Houston burned about 30 vehicles in the parking garage, reportedly caused by an electrical short. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The main concern now is who will cover the damages: the apartment complex or the car owners. The complex management declined to take responsibility, stating residents should deal with their insurance, leaving some, like Yousef Alti, without options as he had just bought his car three days prior and had no insurance. Experts suggest car owners may bear the financial burden despite the fire’s proximity to a gas main that could have intensified the disaster.
Authorities are looking into what caused a serious blaze in a west Houston parking lot where up to 30 vehicles were destroyed.
