Turning sunnier. Latest on Milton
SUMMARY: Southeastern Louisiana is experiencing a cloudy day with some light rain, particularly in Lower Plaquemines Parish. Current conditions show that clouds are moving north from the southwestern Gulf of Mexico, where Tropical Storm Milton is forecasted to strengthen into a hurricane. A cold front is expected to prevent Milton from moving towards Louisiana, steering it towards Florida instead. This front will also bring drier, sunnier weather to the region. Meanwhile, Hurricane Kirk and Hurricane Leslie are both moving towards the north and expected to weaken. Local conditions should improve with clear skies ahead.

Tropical Storm Milton forms in the Gulf, headed to Florida as hurricane
SUMMARY: Meteorologist Pton Malone reports that named storm Milton is currently in the Gulf of Mexico, off the Mexican coast, and could pose a significant threat to Florida. Unlike typical Gulf storms, Milton’s path is directed eastward, likely making landfall as a major hurricane (Category 3 or potentially Category 4) on the west side of Florida by Wednesday. Heavy rains are expected to begin soon, with storm impacts increasing dramatically midweek. The storm’s trajectory depends on its intensity, with potential wind impacts reaching inland areas like Orlando. Residents are urged to prepare for severe weather effects, particularly in the Tampa region.
Meteorologist Payton Malone has the latest update tracking the Tropics. TS Milton expected to land Wednesday in Florida as Cat. 3 hurricane or higher.
