SUMMARY: Nearly three months after Hurricane Barrel left over 2 million CenterPoint customers without power, regulators are seeking public feedback on the utility’s performance. It took CenterPoint over 10 days to restore electricity, raising safety concerns as heat-related deaths were reported. The Public Utility Commission (PUC) has received 15,000 complaints and will hold a meeting this Saturday for residents to voice their opinions. CenterPoint is also requesting to withdraw from a rate review amidst claims of overcharging customers by over $100 million annually. CenterPoint’s CEO will participate in an exclusive interview today to address these issues and future plans.
