SUMMARY: Two local truck drivers and the Tupelo-Lee Humane Society rescued kittens from a storm drain after hearing their cries on Mulla and Venture Street. Despite initial failed attempts, Humane Society board members spotted a plea for help on Facebook and intervened, successfully catching the kittens using squirrel traps. The kittens are now healthy and in foster care. The Humane Society stresses the importance of spaying and neutering pets to prevent similar situations. Volunteers and donations of dog and cat treats are needed, and there is a current promotion offering a free kitten with every adoption.
