Russia uses a gas pipeline to strike at Ukrainian troops from the rear in Kursk
SUMMARY: Russian special forces infiltrated a gas pipeline to launch a surprise attack on Ukrainian units in the Kursk region as part of Moscow’s effort to reclaim territory lost during Ukraine’s significant cross-border incursion in August. This offensive saw Ukraine capture 1,000 square kilometers, including the strategic town of Sudzha, and take hundreds of Russian prisoners. Despite initial successes, Ukrainian forces have faced relentless assaults from around 50,000 Russian troops. Reports indicate that some Russian operatives utilized the pipeline to approach Sudzha, but Ukrainian forces quickly detected and countered their advances, resulting in high Russian casualties.
