Kiffin: New college football helmet communication rule ‘cheat code’ for Ole Miss offense

SUMMARY: College football will introduce coach-to-player helmet communications for the 2024 season, allowing coaching staff to directly speak with one identified player (marked with a green dot) on the field. Lane Kiffin, head coach at Ole Miss, anticipates this change will enhance his offense’s performance. The communication system cuts off at 15 seconds left on the play clock or at the snap. Kiffin’s offensive strategies have previously led Ole Miss to high SEC rankings and a historical 11-win season. Additionally, teams can now use up to 18 tablets for in-game video review but without further analytics or communication capabilities. A new two-minute timeout rule similar to the NFL will also be implemented, bringing synchronization to timing rules.

Election Day is almost here. What to know before voting in Mississippi’s municipal primary runoffs

SUMMARY: On April 22, nearly 30 municipalities in Mississippi will hold primary runoff elections, covering positions from mayor to city council. Voters can participate if registered and must stick to their initial party choice if they voted in the primaries. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.; individuals in line at 7 p.m. can vote. Voters need a photo ID, and legal restrictions prevent campaign materials near polling locations. Absentee voting deadlines have passed, but mail-in ballots are still accepted if postmarked by election day.
