Kentucky State Police issue warning about deer
SUMMARY: As fall arrives, the Kentucky State Police is warning drivers about increased deer-related accidents. Trooper David Jones advises motorists to slow down if they spot a deer, as they often travel in groups. Each year, about 1 million car collisions with deer occur in the U.S., resulting in approximately 200 fatalities. In Kentucky, there were over 3,000 deer-related crashes in 2023, leading to three deaths and more than 200 injuries. If a deer appears suddenly, Trooper Jones emphasizes braking rather than swerving to avoid accidents and recommends staying distraction-free while driving for enhanced safety.
With fall comes deer, Kentucky State Police are issuing a warning about the increase in deer to drivers.

Head coach Hank Plona remains optimistic, stating Thedford could return later this season, though he is expected to miss a couple of weeks. Thedford will miss WKU’s upcoming road games against Louisiana Tech and Sam Houston. He joins Babacar Faye as a player with an uncertain return timeline for the season.

Biden pardon of former Kentucky Dems chair draws Republican ire | Kentucky
SUMMARY: Former Kentucky Democratic Party chairman Jerry Lundergan, convicted in 2019 for illegal campaign contributions and conspiracy, received a controversial pardon from President Joe Biden shortly before Donald Trump’s inauguration. Lundergan, who was sentenced to 21 months in prison for funding his daughter Allison Lundergan Grimes’ 2014 Senate campaign with over $200,000 in corporate funds, had his civil rights restored, including the right to vote. This pardon faced backlash from Kentucky Republicans, as state lawmakers consider measures to limit future gubernatorial pardons during election periods to ensure justice system integrity and transparency.
