Kentucky lawmakers want school district equity officer ousted after ‘inflammatory’ post | Kentucky
SUMMARY: After Kentucky lawmakers called for John Marshall, Jefferson County Public Schools’ chief equity officer, to resign due to an “inflammatory” social media post, supporters rallied to defend him. Marshall’s post, which emphasized skepticism about the intentions of white individuals towards Black people, attracted criticism from 14 Republican lawmakers who deemed it divisive and contrary to unifying goals in schools. They demanded either Marshall’s resignation or termination by the school board. In response, supporters argued that he plays a crucial role in combating racism, and an online petition backing him gained over 250 signatures. The controversy reflects ongoing GOP criticism of JCPS.

Morning weather forecast: 11/15/2024
SUMMARY: Good Friday morning! It’s a gray start, but thankfully no heavy rain like yesterday. While Richmond experiences dreary skies, most areas remain dry with only patchy drizzle. Today’s weather will be cloudy with temperatures in the mid-50s. The system that caused the rainfall is moving out, and high pressure is on the way, promising sunshine by Saturday afternoon. Overnight lows will drop into the lower 40s, possibly upper 30s in some areas. Next week, expect increasing clouds Monday, scattered showers Tuesday, and a cold air surge bringing the potential for snow flurries by next Thursday.
What’s that? Next week? Is that a blast of winter air on the horizon?
Is there moisture in there with that frigid of air? Could that mean snowflakes could fly? Stay tuned!
