Katy Perry finally gets keys to $15 million Montecito mansion after court battle with Mississippi businessman
SUMMARY: After a protracted legal battle, pop star Katy Perry and her husband Orlando Bloom have acquired a Montecito mansion from Carl Westcott, an 84-year-old entrepreneur from Mississippi. Westcott sold the $15 million estate in July 2020, shortly after moving in, but claimed he was under the influence of medication when he signed the contract. Despite Westcott’s attempts to retract the sale, a judge upheld the contract in December 2023, favoring Perry and Bloom. The couple took ownership in May 2023 and are now seeking compensation for damages and lost rent. Westcott’s son criticizes Perry as “heartless” and hypocritical.
