'Juvenile feud' ends with North Richland Hills man killed, 3 teens charged with murder
SUMMARY: A violent incident stemming from a juvenile feud led to the death of 52-year-old Brian Cason Pence, who was shot inside his home in North Richland Hills the night before Thanksgiving. The intended target of the gunfire lived nearby, marking the shooting as a tragic case of mistaken identity. Three suspects—19-year-old Anthony Zapata, 18-year-old Martin Marquez Diaz, and 17-year-old Alexander Ortega—were arrested and charged with first-degree murder, aided by neighborhood surveillance footage. Residents are shaken, fearing similar violence might recur. Police have increased patrols in the area to enhance community safety.
Investigators learned that 52-year-old Brian Cason Pence was not the target, and the intended victim lives nearby. “It was the wrong house.”

Dallas is lone finalist for FIFA World Cup International Broadcast Center
SUMMARY: Dallas is the sole finalist for the FIFA World Cup, with plans to host the International Broadcast Center (IBC) during the event. A city council committee has proposed a $15 million investment to support the deal, which could lead to significant economic benefits, estimated at $2 billion. If approved, the IBC would be located at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, coinciding with the construction of a new convention center expected to be completed by 2028. Councilman Jesse Moreno emphasized that funding comes from hotel taxes and aims to benefit local and minority businesses during the construction.
The last time the World Cup was in the United States, Dallas was also the site of the IBC. The deal would result in thousands of journalists from all over the world calling Dallas home for several weeks.
