SUMMARY: Over two weeks after a fire at Conor’s biolab facility released a chemical plume, the company has established a new Assistance Center for local residents. This center allows individuals to file claims, make reimbursement appointments, and receive general information and support from representatives of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Georgia Environmental Protection Division, Rockdale County, and the biolab itself. While some visitors reported receiving answers, many expressed dissatisfaction and frustration, feeling their concerns about air safety and health risks remained unaddressed. The Assistance Center operates Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Rockdale County Deputy Chief Jimmy Robinson said the priority is ensuring the community has access to all necessary resources in the wake of this event.
