SUMMARY: Special Judge Barry Ford has dismissed Archie’s lawsuit against the county and Democratic Party officials regarding his election loss. The lawsuit was dismissed with judicial prejudice as Archie filed his petition outside of the 10-day filing period. Archie’s attorney argued that the circuit clerk’s office being closed for half a day prevented him from filing, but Ford stated that the cyber attack had nothing to do with a paper filing. Archie claims there was election fraud and corruption in his primary election loss. Jacqueline Amos, Chair of the Hinds County Democratic Executive Committee, emphasized the importance of fair elections and stated that they are looking forward to the November elections. Archie’s attorney plans to file a notice of appeal with the Mississippi Supreme Court.
