JSU Sonic Boom gains momentum after Super Bowl performance

SUMMARY: The goal of the Sonic Boom of the South band is to be the best in the nation, not just the best HBCU or collegiate band. They recently performed at the 2024 Super Bowl halftime show, alongside big-name artists like Usher and Alicia Keys. This experience has opened doors for more major opportunities, including the 2025 Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California. Band director Dr. Roderick Little is proud of the band’s accomplishments and aims to continue developing and expanding their legacy on a national scale. The Hunts County Board of Supervisors plans to recognize and pay tribute to the band at their next meeting.

Jackson Democratic mayoral primary heads to runoff
