SUMMARY: The Jackson Public School District has approved a pay increase for teachers for the upcoming school year, as confirmed at today’s board meeting. The raise is funded by an additional $18 million from the state legislature’s new school funding formula and savings from the district’s Optimization for Equity Plan. Teachers with 20 years or less of service will receive a $5,000 increase; those with 21 to 30 years of service will get over $5,200; and teachers with over 31 years of service will see an increase of more than $5,500.
