SUMMARY: The Jackson Police Department is addressing the issue of an abandoned hotel, Hotel “O,” off I-55 near North Side Drive. Chief Joseph Wade and his department have received numerous complaints from residents and concerned parents about the site being an eyesore and a crime haven. Upon inspection, the chief found deplorable conditions, including broken windows, abandoned furniture, and infestations. Wade has recommended the hotel be torn down and has discussed actions with the municipal court judge. The property owner has a warrant for his arrest and is being sought in Texas and Louisiana.
