SUMMARY: GOP Speaker nominee Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) has once again failed in his attempt to become Speaker of the House, prolonging the contentious stalemate that has thrown the chamber into chaos. Jordan lost more Republican support in this third vote, losing 25 GOP votes compared to 20 and 22 in the previous two ballots. Despite the setback, Jordan remains determined to get a Speaker elected as soon as possible to help the American people. Plans to hold a third vote were scrapped after opponents maintained their resistance to Jordan and some lawmakers switched their votes.
