Jones College gets grant for healthcare programs
SUMMARY: Hospitals have been struggling to find healthcare workers since the beginning of the pandemic, including facilities in the Pine Belt. Jones College recently received a $1.8 million grant to expand its six healthcare programs. The grant, distributed by Accelerate Mississippi, will allow the college to do many different things with that money, such as expanding classroom sizes, updating technology, and remodeling facilities. This will help address the shortage of healthcare workers in the area, and provide more opportunities to students interested in pursuing healthcare careers.
The Jones College Healthcare Simulation Center will soon look different than it does now.
