SUMMARY: Missouri Gov. Mike Kehoe’s budget proposal, touted as a significant boost for public school funding, falls $300 million short of state law requirements. He suggests reallocating $50 million towards a program for private school students. The proposed budget totals $53.7 billion, with $4 billion earmarked for the foundation formula. fox2now.com – Joey Schneider – 2025-01-28 13:24:00

SUMMARY: D2 Productions, Inc. has filed a lawsuit against Nelly and three St. Lunatics members, claiming they are owed royalties from songs recorded between 1997-2000 at D2’s studios, including tracks from “Country Grammar” and “Nellyville.” D2 asserts that the master recordings were created with a contractual condition that they remained D2’s property. The lawsuit alleges that Nelly secretly took full credit for the songs, avoiding royalties owed to D2. D2 is seeking at least $20 million in damages and ownership of the master recordings. The case is separate from a previous lawsuit filed by other St. Lunatics members against Nelly.

www.youtube.com – FOX 2 St. Louis – 2025-01-28 08:43:48

SUMMARY: South Carolina’s rise from 26th to 13th place in the 2025 Education Freedom Report by ALEC highlights significant improvements in educational freedom. With a “B” in education freedom programs and charter schools, the state is making strides in providing more options for students. The notable improvement in charter schools, securing 8th place with 9.63 points, signals progress in offering diverse educational opportunities. However, the state still faces challenges in open enrollment, receiving an “F” for that category. Despite these challenges, South Carolina’s overall performance places it among the top states, with Florida continuing to lead with an “A+” grade. ALEC’s focus on limited government and free-market principles is reflected in its assessment of state education systems.

West County Center’s Marketing Director Christine Poehling joins the morning show to showcase a set of Chiefs gear available ahead of their Super Bowl matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.
