Jimmy Carter arrives at Carter Center to lie in repose | FOX 5 News
SUMMARY:
The motorcade carrying the body of former U.S. President Jimmy Carter has arrived at the Carter Center, marking a historic moment. Carter, who passed away at 100 years old this past Sunday, had planned this event with his wife, Rosalynn, in 1986. Their wishes included an intimate service at the Carter Center, reflecting Carter’s faith and personal values. Family, friends, and military personnel are present for the ceremony, with traditional hymns such as “America the Beautiful” and “Be Thou My Vision” playing. The ceremony at the circle of flags in Atlanta, Georgia, honors Carter’s life of service.
Former President Jimmy Carter was received at the Carter Center with ‘Hail to the Chief.’ The former president lay in repose over the weekend as Georgia mourned the loss of its favorite son.

The 'no-budget' budget: A simplified way to track money
SUMMARY: Budgeting isn’t a universal solution; different methods suit different individuals. Traditional budgeting often overwhelms some due to the need for meticulous expense tracking. An alternative is the “no-budget” budget, also known as the anti-budget. This intuitive method involves covering essential expenses and then intentionally reducing discretionary spending without tracking every dollar. After paying necessary bills, any remaining money becomes disposable income. This method is ideal for those who prefer simplicity and live within their means, but it may lead to overspending for those with fluctuating incomes or poor financial discipline. Caution is advised when adopting this approach.

The FBI says the man responsible for New Year's truck attack visited New Orleans twice before
SUMMARY: Shamsud-Din Jabbar, a former U.S. Army soldier, conducted a deadly truck attack in New Orleans on New Year’s Day, killing 14 people. He had visited the city twice in 2023, recording videos of the French Quarter with hands-free glasses, and had traveled to Cairo, Egypt, and Ontario, Canada, prior to the attack. Jabbar, inspired by the Islamic State, acted alone, according to federal officials, though investigations into his connections continue. He utilized bomb-making materials and attacked police before being shot dead. Following the incident, security measures were heightened in the city, especially with upcoming events like Carnival and the Super Bowl.
