Jett Johnson, Caden Davis earn SEC Player of the Week honors
SUMMARY: Mississippi State linebacker Jett Johnson and Ole Miss kicker Caden Davis have been recognized as players of the week in the Southeastern Conference (SEC). Johnson was named SEC Defensive Player of the Week after recording 11 tackles, two for a loss, and one sack in Mississippi State’s victory over Arizona. Davis, on the other hand, was named SEC Special Teams Player of the Week for his perfect performance in Ole Miss’ win over Tulane, including a successful 56-yard field goal. Both players will have the opportunity to showcase their skills in upcoming games against LSU and Georgia Tech, respectively.

SUMMARY: Terrell Buckley, a Pascagoula native and College Football Hall of Famer, has been hired as the new head coach at Mississippi Valley State University (MVSU). He replaces Kendrick Wade, who was let go after a 1-11 season.
