Jenna Ellis becomes latest Trump lawyer to plead guilty over efforts to overturn Georgia’s election

SUMMARY: Jenna Ellis, a prominent conservative media figure and attorney, pleaded guilty to a felony charge related to efforts to overturn Donald Trump’s loss in the 2020 election in Georgia. Ellis, who was a vocal part of Trump’s campaign, acknowledged her “deep remorse” for her actions and tearfully told the judge that she would not have represented Trump if she had known then what she knows now. Ellis pleaded guilty to one felony count of aiding and abetting false statements and writings. Her guilty plea follows similar pleas from two other defendants in the case. Ellis was sentenced to five years of probation.
