Jacksonville, FL Under Tropical Storm Warning, Storm Surge Warning Ahead Hurricane Milton
SUMMARY: Hurricane Milton is expected to transition across Florida from the West Coast to the East Coast, maintaining hurricane force winds. Jacksonville Beach is currently under a tropical storm and storm surge warning. To the south, from Ponto V Beach to Indian River, hurricane warnings are in effect. The First Coast could experience a surge of 3 to 5 feet, with risks extending to Georgia. If this surge coincides with high tide and heavy rainfall, flooding may occur, particularly along the St. John River in Jacksonville. Meteorologist J. SUMMARY: After assessing the storm’s impact, requests for assistance arise. In Raymond, the Hinds County Sheriff confirmed that one person was taken into custody following a shooting on Airport Road. The incident occurred shortly after 4 PM on Wednesday, leaving a 44-year-old man critically injured. He was subsequently transported to UMMC for medical treatment.
The Hinds County Sheriff’s Department has made an arrest in connection with a shooting.

SUMMARY: Hurricane Mil is a powerful storm with maximum sustained winds of 165 mph, having reached 180 mph at its peak. It recorded a low pressure of 897 millibars, making it the strongest Gulf hurricane for this time of year. Expected to maintain major hurricane status, it is forecasted to impact the western coast of Florida with life-threatening storm surges of 10-15 feet. Cooler temperatures are arriving locally with lows in the low 50s expected, as a cold front has moved through. However, rain is unlikely, and drought conditions may re-emerge as the week progresses. The next ten days promise pleasant outdoor weather.
