Jackson public safety initiative nets more arrests, seizures

SUMMARY: Governor Tate Reeves initiated “Operation Unified” to target violent criminals in the Jackson-metro area. Mississippi DPS officials reported more than 600 arrests, 200 firearms confiscated, 500 pounds of drugs seized, and over $30,000 confiscated. Phase two of the operation resulted in 35 arrest warrants being issued, leading to the seizure of 18 firearms, $20,000, one stolen vehicle, and illegal drugs. Approximately 40 arrests were made during this phase. This operation serves to combat crime and enhance public safety in the Jackson area.
