Jackson Police investigate apparent beating death of one-year-old child

SUMMARY: J-P-D Chief Wade called it very disturbing and unacceptable that a one-year-old child suffered massive trauma and bruising. The incident occurred at the Sunset Apartments around 10:00 this morning, with two persons of interest being questioned, including the mother and a neighbor, and another person being sought. Wade stated that this type of violence will not be tolerated and they will not stop until the perpetrator is held accountable. J-P-D has contacted child protection services as other children were present at the time of the incident. Cameron Smith provided details on the case during a live report.
