Jackson native makes Packers final roster
SUMMARY: Jackson native Malik Heath, a former Calloway Charger, has made it onto the final 53-man roster for the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent. He demonstrated improvement during practice and the preseason, leading all Packers receivers in catches and yards in three preseason games. After Calloway, he excelled at Colon Community College, Mississippi State, and Ole Miss. Heath will be one of six receivers for Green Bay this season. Other notable cuts include former Ole Miss linebacker Chase Campbell by the Titans, Alcorn State linebacker Claude Cherilus by the Jets, and Jackson Prep and Ole Miss back Jerrion Ealy by the Chiefs. The Saints also waived former Mississippi State safety Jonathan Abrams and Vicksburg native Nick Anderson, who played at Tulane.
Former Callaway standout Malik Heath is now a Green Bay Packer. Heath led the Green Bay receivers in catches and yards during the preseason. The former MSU and Ole Miss receiver is now one of 6 wideouts on the Packers roster for the 2023 season.
