Jackson moves closer to giving Henifin oversight of sewer system

SUMMARY: The Jackson City Council has agreed to appoint Ted Henifin, a Third Party Manager, to oversee the capital city’s sewer system. Henifin is already in charge of Jackson’s water system as a federal appointee. U.S. District Judge Henry Wingate had previously ordered Henifin to take control of the struggling sewer system. This decision comes after the city entered into a consent decree with the Environmental Protection Agency in 2021 to address issues of raw sewage overflow and compliance with the Clean Water Act. The appointment of Henifin could be officially approved by Wingate as soon as next week.

All aboard Delta flight survive after plane flips while landing in Toronto
