Jackson mayor discusses Metrocenter Mall lease termination

SUMMARY: The fate of the Metrocenter Mall in Jackson, Mississippi is a major concern for city leaders. City offices are currently housed in the mall, but workers have complained about issues such as mold, sewage backups, and poor ventilation. Last week, the city council voted to terminate the lease agreement with mall owners, Retro Metro. The agreement, which began in 2011, was supposed to last 20 years, but Retro Metro claimed that it was the city’s responsibility to maintain and repair the property. The city will be moving its offices to a different location, but the relocation of the police department’s Precinct 2 has not yet been decided.

All aboard Delta flight survive after plane flips while landing in Toronto

Initial investigations indicated normal communications before the incident, and experts noted that the aircraft is designed to handle adverse weather.
