Jackson implements youth curfew with hopes of reducing juvenile crime

Schoolchildren must also be supervised during school hours. Various exceptions apply, such as for minors on parental errands or traveling to work. Despite Mayor Lumumba’s reports of decreased crime in 2023, he supported the curfew and suggested future curfew centers to provide services to troubled youth.
