Jackson bridge over Hanging Moss Creek reopens
SUMMARY: The south frontage road over Hanging Moss Creek in Jackson, Mississippi, has been reopened by the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) after being shut down in November 2023 due to a fire. The bridge was expected to remain closed for several months but was repaired ahead of schedule thanks to favorable weather conditions, public cooperation, and hard work from the crews. However, additional work still needs to be done, including the replacement of a tension bar and installation of permanent striping and raised pavement markers. Motorists are advised to exercise caution and be alert for roadside crews and workers until the project is fully completed in spring 2024.
