Jackson airport awarded $22M for infrastructure projects
SUMMARY: The Jackson Municipal Airport Authority (JMAA) has secured $22 million in funding for infrastructure projects at Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport (JAN). The allocated funds will be used for projects such as rehabilitating and constructing taxiways, widening runway shoulders, and upgrading lighting systems. Construction is set to begin in November and conclude by May 2025. JAN is projected to serve over a million passengers in 2023.
