SUMMARY: Tonight, a Houston man, 44-year-old Constantine Argir Rio, was sentenced to 50 years in prison for the aggravated assault of a public servant. This charge carries a punishment similar to that of murder. The incident dates back to 2017 when Deputy Constable Justin Gay responded to a family violence call at Argir Rio’s home. After a struggle during the attempted detention, Argir Rio shot Deputy Gay seven times in the legs. Fortunately, Deputy Gay reports being in good health and claims to harbor no hatred towards Argir Rio.

A Harris County Jury sentenced Constantine Argyriou, 44, to 50 years in prison for the shooting that severely wounded Precinct 4 deputy constable Justin Gay.
