IRS offering tax relief for Mississippians impacted by April storms

Following a disaster declaration by FEMA, individuals in Hancock, Hinds, Humphreys, Madison, Neshoba, and Scott counties are eligible for this relief. The IRS has extended certain tax filing and payment deadlines to November 1, including individual income tax returns and quarterly estimated tax payments. Penalties on payroll and excise tax deposits due between April 8-23 will be waived if paid by April 23. Taxpayers outside the affected area can request relief via the IRS disaster hotline or through bulk requests on IRS.gov.

Bricen Rivers pleads not guilty to murder of ex-girlfriend Lauren Johansen
